From 2011 until 2012, I worked as the The Center for the Arts in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. I curated fifteen monthly exhibitions in an 1800 sq. ft gallery. My responsibilities included handling recruitment, submissions review, packaging, design layout and installation, as well as press release and promotion. I hosted opening receptions for a multitude of artists-including professional, outsider, and the underserved- and linked artists to prospective projects and/or purchasing clients, while educating the public on the concepts and materials inherent to the works presented therein. Subsequently, I was hired to work for institutions including Southern College of Optometry, Service Master, and Brinkley Plaza in Memphis to recruit and review submission for yearly public art installations. On occasions, I have been known to volunteer and create exhibitions to showcase work and artists that otherwise would not be shown.
